Derek Kom

Hi, I’m Derek Kom, a qualified Chiropractor with a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and a Master of Chiropractic. I’m passionate about helping people live active, pain-free lives, and I bring both clinical experience and a personal love of movement and sport to every patient interaction.

I’ve spent many years treating a wide range of spinal conditions, including sprains and strains, disc-related injuries, spinal joint dysfunction, nerve pain like sciatica, and posture-related issues. I also regularly help people manage headaches and migraines that are linked to musculoskeletal tension. In addition to spinal care, I have a strong interest in treating extremity conditions involving the shoulders, hips, knees, and feet and I offer tailored rehabilitation strategies, including orthotic prescriptions when needed.

My approach is hands-on and practical. I treat people from all walks of life—from office workers and tradespeople to athletes and retirees—and I enjoy supporting patients through recovery from work-related injuries, sporting injuries, and motor vehicle accidents.

Outside the clinic, I’m a firm believer in staying active and healthy myself. I compete in tennis every week, and I’m also a keen golfer. My personal experience with sports gives me an added appreciation for movement, injury prevention, and performance, which I bring into my patient care. I’m a registered Chiropractor with AHPRA, a member of the Chiropractic and Osteopathic College of Australasia (COCA), and a WorkCover-approved treatment provider. I also offer care under all major private health insurers, Medicare (with an EPC referral), the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Workers’ Compensation, and Compulsory Third-Party (CTP) insurance.
