Move freely without sharp, catching pain.
Understanding Shoulder Impingement
Shoulder impingement occurs when tendons or the shoulder bursa (fluid-filled sac) get pinched during arm movement, usually between the shoulder blade and the upper arm bone. This is often caused by repetitive overhead activities, poor posture, muscle imbalance, or previous injuries.
Without proper management, impingement can worsen into rotator cuff tears or frozen shoulder.
Common Symptoms
- Sharp or pinching pain when lifting the arm
- Weakness when reaching overhead
- Difficulty sleeping on the affected side
- Reduced shoulder mobility
How We Help
Our approach is focused on restoring joint space and muscle balance:
- Chiropractic adjustments to optimise upper back, neck, and shoulder mechanics
- Soft tissue therapy to relieve tightness in overactive muscles
- Strengthening underactive muscles to support better movement
- Specific stretching protocols to restore range of motion
- Ergonomic and activity modification advice
Our Goal
We help you return to pain-free motion while preventing future impingement episodes.
